GREEN LOVE SOUTHEND

Working together to accelerate Net Zero in Southend.

As part of the REMeDY project - aiming to deliver low-cost low-carbon energy solutions through an innovative consortium of businesses and Southend Borough Council - in the Spring of 2022 we invited residents, businesses and organisations to share and learn what they can do together to put Southend on the path to net zero. Green Love Southend was conducted in partnership with PlastiCity.

Southend has a 2030 target to be ‘net zero’ which means it will aim to reduce carbon emissions to zero across the city. Southend has the intention of creating an updated ‘Green City Action Plan’ - your views make a difference.

Green Love Southend ran for 6 weeks, offering participants the opportunity to join energy and carbon workshops to understand energy bills and invoice management, as well as exploring the technologies available to  improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. We engaged with businesses & organisation to obtain energy data from a building to analyse and develop a low carbon pathway for the organisation, unveiling the possible amount of carbon reductions and the potential application of REMeDY like solutions.
